The Sound of Heaven

The moon is full, and something magical is in the air; you can feel it. Leh’s hilltop monastery shines golden in the moonlight. The atmosphere of this night delights Laura and she really wants to hold on to this magical moment. The images and experiences of the last days spent trekking in the Himalayas have not sated her curiosity. The entire vacation was already starting to drift into the past and she was now beginning to rely on her inner voice. The vacation was supposed to help her unwind, recharge her batteries, get some distance from stalkers and harassing colleagues; help her recover from burnout and ultimately deal with her new skills, primarily to understand them and find a way to cope with them, to shut off these intuitions at best or to find a way to use them purposefully. She had succeeded in doing this over these past few weeks. Through good conversations with locals, monks, and freedom-loving, long-term tourists who had an ear for spirituality, she had made progress. Their theory of the transformation of energy through the use of singing bowls was now helping her come to another level of understanding.

The exchange of thoughts was welcome in Dali's shop, in which he was offering Buddhist statues, souvenirs, jewelry and traditional sound instruments, singing bowls, cymbals, bells, and gongs. She discovered the shop on her very first day in India and started to talk to Dali about Buddhism, the chakras, and the political situation in Leh. Dali was around 50 years old, a Tibetan who was running this shop and whose family had been living in Leh for generations. The cultural treasures in the shop and his knowledge were overwhelming.

Laura returned to Dali's after trekking. They talked about traditional healing methods, meditation, the laying on of hands, energies, and life patterns. Laura knows that Dali has healing powers, that this craft had been dropped into his lap. He doesn't exactly know how to deal with it. He uses his powers with great respect. She learned from their conversations that he was afraid of taking on people’s "bad energy" when he had helped to liberate them. Laura is sure that people can be helped to let go of those energies that hinder their development through the use of any kind of technique, whether it be yoga, massage, the laying on of hands, sound energy, and so on. The release of that energy must ultimately be done independently by each person. This is because each person is responsible for him or herself. This way you can’t make any mistakes. The energies can be transformed through various techniques and returned to the universe. When these energies leave a person’s aura, they are no longer dangerous because they mean something different to each person.
