Tales of the Dandenongs by James Hume-Cook is about a young woman, all alone in the world who is desperate for some company. Luckily for her, war veteran Jim, christened James, happens to be passing by her window as she prays fervently to God for help. Excerpt: «There is always something doing in the Hills.
