FOREWORD

The author of the e-book “Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs” – part three is the Pazardzhik folklore singer Ivanka Ivanova Pitrek.

In July of 2012, the professional singer published another e-book of hers: “Folklore Dedication.”:

http://youtu.be/kQBpUAfiHCM

where she introduced those who love the Bulgarian Folklore Song with the techniques of breathing and singing for folklore songs, with the features of the Bulgarian folklore districts, custom clothing, instruments… with the specific Bulgarian measures and rhythms.

The e-books “Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs – Part One” and “Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs – Part Two” followed. And now it is the turn for “Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs – Part Three” where she has notated and put down the lyrics for 44 more folklore songs from her repertoire of Pazardzhik folk songs, recorded in various radio stations, TV locations, and CDs, classified by type and with explanations of any foreign words. The folklore songs included are several types: of life volk songs, of life ritual volk songs: Easter Volk Songs, Lazarus Volk Songs, of life – Historic volk songs, Love Volk Songs, Haidouk Volk Songs, and Heroic Volk Songs – Songs of hero /Krali/ King Marko.

Please enjoy them and look forward to the sequel: “Ivanka Ivanova’s Songs – Part Four”!

All the products of the author can be found at her profile:

/Not: In many of the songs, the location name Tatar Pazardzhik is sung or talked about. That name is the archaic name for the region capital of today Pazardzhik./
