"Yollop" by George Barr McCutcheon is a satirical work about crime waves, juries, prisons, and reformers that were typical of the America of the time between the 19th and 20th centuries. Poking fun at the legal system and the way justice was pursued and carried out made it an instant favorite among those who worked in law and found humor and recognition in its zany world. It has even remained surprisingly relevant to this day.
