How do I read / listen to books using Apple devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod)?

Reading eBooks on Apple devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod).

Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), particularly free application iBooks, support EPUB and PDFformats. EPUB is the most convenient one, because PDF may not be scaled and it is impossible to change font size there.

There are several methods of reading books on iOS devices:

In a mobile application:

1. Install a free mobile app LitRes Read in the AppStore.
2. After installation of the LitRes application you need to enter your username and password in Account section. All e-books purchased from LitRes earlier will be available on your device for downloading and reading.

In iBooks application made by Apple:

1. After payment go to the book page on LitRes.
2. Select EPUB, click it
3. The book will be immediately downloaded to your computer to the indicated folder or on a desktop.
4. Connect your device to your computer.
5. Run iTunes.
6. After opening iTunes drag the file to Books section of the multimedia library.
7. If the book has been downloaded without cover, right click on the book and choose Information item in the menu that appeared. In the opened window choose Cover page and click Add(may be different in different versions of iTunes).
8. Synchronise the device.

In iBooks application or its analogue through Safari:

1. Install a special reader iBooks to your Apple device (or another of your choice).
2. Connect your device to Internet (through Wi-Fi or mobile Internet).
3. Open Safari browser and go to litres.com.
4. Enter your username and password and go to the page of the purchased book or to My books section and find the required book.
5. Choose EPUB format, click on it.
6. You will be offered to open a book with one of the applications installed on your device. Select iBooks application.

8. Click on the book and start reading. You may always continue reading by tapping iВooks icon on your device.

Online reading:

1. Go to litres.comusing browser of your mobile device.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Now, you may read your books from the website in Read online mode.

Listening to audio books on Apple devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod).

There are several methods of reading books on iOS devices:

In LitRes Listen mobile application:

1. Install a free application from LitRes Listen from App Store.
2. Enter your username and password in Account section.
3. Go to My books section. All LitRes audio books are already in your device.

In iBooks on the device:

1. Download an audio book in m4b format from litres.com
2. Run iTunes.
3. After opening iTunes drag the file to Books section of the multimedia library.
4. Connect the device to the computer, it will appear in Devices category.
5. In Audiobooks tab tick Synchronize audio books and synchronize it with computer by clicking Apply.
6. Audiobook has been copied to the device. It may be found in iBooks in Audiobooks section.
