"Across the Vatna Jökull; or, Scenes in Iceland: Being a Description of Hitherto Unknown Regions" by William Lord Watts is a work of non-fiction that still seems to be a work of imagination. Watts manages to describe the harsher, less settled regions of Iceland in a way that transports the reader's mind and soul. It's easy to forget that one is reading an informative text and might easily begin to think they are reading a work of magical fiction.
