The Tigress

The story begins as a young man and woman are having a heated disagreement as to whether their 3-month relationship is actually over. The young man had convinced himself that the young lady in question was so in love with her that she must wish to marry her. The young lady, in contrast, seems to enjoy treating men as a casual amusement. They are in India of the colonial days, so we have immediately some sense of the lives they lead.
