The Silver Poppy

"The Silver Poppy" by Arthur Stringer is a wonderfully written passion romance novel. The central character of the story is a young Englishman, a recent Oxford graduate. He has recently moved to the United States. Despite his high literary ideals and genuine poetic ability, he is forced to make a living as a hack writer in New York. He meets and eventually falls in love with Cordelia Vaughan. She is a beautiful young woman who has achieved fame and wealth as the author of a novel («The Silver Poppy»). The novel is actually the work of a man who handed down the manuscript to the author on his deathbed.
