The Mystery of Murray Davenport

Robert Neilson Stephens' 'The Mystery of Murray Davenport' begins by introducing us to Thomas Larcher, a young man who is content in his small living quarters until he receives a telegram from his beloved Edna, who is unexpectedly in town. Despite the inclement weather, Larcher rushes to the Savoy Hotel to meet her and is invited into her suite. After they exchange pleasantries, Edna asks Larcher to do something for her: to find Murray Davenport, whom Larcher would later discover is a criminal who has gone missing. As this truth comes to light, Larcher, Edna, and her wealthy aunt become embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, leading them on a chase across New York City to find Davenport and solve the mystery of his disappearance.
