Robert Welch Herrick was a novelist who was part of a new generation of American realists. Taking place on the US East Coast, this book is a slow-burning story of what life was like for an average man who was just trying to make something of himself. With much of the story focusing on the «Four Corners» in Middleton, Massachusetts, the book has a homey feel that typically comes with coming-of-age stories.
