A Narrative of the Life of Rev. Noah Davis, A Colored Man

The autobiographical book «A Narrative of the Life of Rev. Noah Davis…» tells the heroic story of the 19th century African American minister. Davis was a former enslaved person who eventually succeeded in purchasing his and his family members' freedom. Having obtained his freedom, he went into Christian ministry and established the Second Colored Baptist Church in Baltimore. He often spoke at lectures in the north of America and published the book to raise money to free his wife and children.
