In this book, Mark Twain decides to go on a journey just for pleasure. He and a companion set out from New York by boat. On the first evening, as the boat is gliding along in the darkness, he is entertained by listening in on the conversation of two elderly gentlemen, one of whom has just purchased a burial plot.
