Phyllis

'Phyllis' is a coming-of-age novel written by Maria Thompson Davies. The story follows a wealthy yet miserable young woman named Phyllis, who had to move to Tennessee with her ill-health mother and businessman father. There, she has the chance to befriend the Byrd family, and decides to return them to their previous station in life through the wondrous inventions that the eldest son of the Byrds is capable of bringing to life.
