Curiosities of Heat

'Curiosities of Heat' is a fictional novel by author and Presbyterian minister Lyman Beecher. Mr. Wilton is the diligent minister of a village parish. Mr. Wilton had recently seen many an eye grow tearful as he unfolded the love of Christ and urged upon his hearers the claims of the exalted Redeemer. He found, in particular, an increasing readiness to listen when he talked with the young people of his congregation. Among them are his three bible study students Ansel, Samuel and Peter. But the three are also listening to Mr. Hume, the agnostic villager who has declared that «the book of nature is his Bible.»
