How It Happened

'How It Happened' is a mystery-romance novel written by Kate Langley Bosher. The story follows the life of a woman named Carmencita Bell, who is introduced in the first chapter of the book as a poor young woman who wanted more from life; in which case, she plans to do so by marrying higher than her station in life.
