A New Chipmunk (Genus Eutamias) from the Black Hills

This pamphlet announces the discovery of a new chipmunk subspecies: Eutamias minimus silvaticus. Nowadays, the species is identified as Neotamias minimus, also called the least chipmunk. It is the smallest species of chipmunk, and can be found throughout most of the western United States from northern New Mexico and western North and South Dakota to eastern California, Oregon and Washington.
