The Loyalist

This is a historical novel set during the American Revolution. The story follows a fictitious hero and heroine, but accurately depicts the historical figures and events of the time, including the attempted formation of the Regiment of Roman Catholic Volunteers and the court-martial of Major General Arnold. The influence of Peggy Shippen, the wife of Benedict Arnold, on her husband is also explored.
