"Three Months of My Life" by J. F. Foster

Foster is an often under-appreciated part of medical history, having served as the assistant surgeon in the Royal Army. In this book, he describes three months of his life while enlisted. Starting July 4th, 1868 the book is a compilation of diligent, short excerpts of his day-to-day activities, experiences, thoughts, and feelings of the horror he saw and the sick and injured he helped heal.
