"An American Suffragette" by Isaac Newton Stevens was written during the height of the suffragette movement in America that saw women fighting for the same rights as men. Namely, the right to vote. This novel manages to be informative and engaging at the same time. The story is told within the context of the dissolution of a marriage engagement, two developing romances, and a murder mystery solved by a feminist woman defense attorney.
