About the book
This is a personal view of WWI, in particular the campaigns in France, told through the medium of personal letters written by the author. She had been requested by Theodore Roosevelt to write about the war so that people in America could understand what was happening in Britain. As a result she visited the trenches in France and this book is part of the result.
