A Change in the Cabinet

This funny, a bit fantastical, and astoundingly realistic political satire novel was written by Hilaire Belloc, a previous MP for the British government, and tells the story of the life of a fictional British Prime Minister and the shenanigans he finds himself in. In this latest installment of the series, Mary Smith decides to assist one of her friends, Dimmy, to return to his previous upper-class stature. Her idea? Station him as an MP in the House of Commons, and kick out the current seatholder, Sir Charles Repton, whose sharp-tongued reputation has left many in tears. Would Mary succeed in her schemes or would Sir Charles parry her advances?
