Garside's Career

'Garside's Career' is a four-act comedy play penned by Harold Brighouse. The first act unfolds with two women, Mrs. Garside and Margaret, waiting for Peter to return with the results of his university degree exam. Mrs. Garside is nervous and impatient, while Margaret is concerned about the odds against Peter. Upon his arrival, Pete announces that he has passed his exams and is an honors man of Midlandton University. Mrs. Garside is overjoyed, while Margaret asks if he passed with first class honors.
