The Witch's Head

This was the second of H. Rider Haggard's novels and much of it is set in Africa in the territory of the Zulu warriors. The story begins in the home of Mr Cardus who is the uncle of Ernest. He is a young boy who has lost his mother recently and is now reliant on Mr Cardus for a roof over his head.
