"In Touch with Nature: Tales and Sketches from the Life" is a collection of sketches on the travels of Frank, a right jolly, jovial albeit retired sailor with a big rough beard, tinged with grey, a weather-beaten face as brown as the back of a fiddle, and blue eyes that swam in fun and genuine good nature. Uncle Frank as he was fondly referred to gives the tales of his travels to faraway lands in his sailor days, at the warm fireside of a cottage reunion with his family and friends. From his voyage to the Arctic Circle during the winter, to exploring the woodlands of Berkshire in the summer, and even travel with a gypsy convoy through various places in England and Scotland.
