"My First Mission" by George Q. Cannon is, at its core, a faith-promoting text that narrates Cannon's mission to Hawaii which was compiled from his meticulously kept journals. George Quayle Cannon was an early member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in the First Presidency under four successive presidents of the church pioneering and spreading the word as dutiful evangelist.
