Pete woke up very early. “Today is the day” he thought and excited he jumped out of his bed and ran to the bathroom. He was invited to a birthday party and he had to look perfect today. Katharine was the most beautiful girl on the planet, she would be there, and Pete wanted her to notice him.

Kragh was a lower class citizen of the Hirass race. His people were assigned to supervise this part of the Milky Way, therefore also “Earth” as the locals called it. In his language it was The Blue which sounded much nicer to his ears. Though he was pretty neutral towards the inhabitants of Earth, including the pesky humans, the word “Earth” was annoying him. He had difficulties to pronounce it and his mates were constantly teasing him because of this deficiency. “Yeah, another boring day.” he murmured to himself, though this was not entirely true. In the comm channels the Central was releasing bits about the accelerating technological development of the human race. Kragh did not really care, his task was not to think, but he did pick up some nervousness hidden between the lines. The Elders were worried. He did not understand why; their technological level was far superior to the humans and they were part of the Galactic Alliance. Thousands of space-faring civilizations would jump to their support if needed. “Ah, stupid old elders… They have nothing else to do than worrying about some non-sense…”
