The Passing of the Idle Rich

The following publication is a collection of essays written by Frederick Townsend Martin; a New York City writer, advocate for the poor, and an acknowledged leader of society in New York. He was referred to as a «millionaire with a mission.» And here, he published his perspective of what he calls «the early excesses of the earliest of the idle rich, condoned by the leaders of society in that day.»
