The Vanishing of Tera

The story opens as a man, Johnson, preaches to his Quaker brethren about the evils of the heathen world. In their midst sits a beautiful young woman, Tera, 'rescued' from her native South Seas island by Johnson. He has plans to make her his wife but Tera already has plans to marry a young sailor called Jack Finland.
