Decline and Fall

Decline and Fall is a satirical novel written by Evelyn Waugh. The story is a darkly comedic exploration of the absurdities and hypocrisies of British society in the interwar period. The novel follows the misadventures of its protagonist, Paul Pennyfeather, a naive and well-meaning young man who is unjustly expelled from Oxford University after a drunken prank.
