The book is about the mysterious afterlife and people who find themselves there in new guises. The book touches on many characters with their own storylines. People live in despondency, the Devil regularly kidnaps another victim for torture, only Sander, among all the dead souls, does not seem depressed about his death. He inspires the inhabitants of the afterworld to a new happy life. 20 years pass, now he is the mayor of the newly built town, but over the years of rule and a series of wrong decisions, Sander is slowly losing his mind.
