The Carbonels

'The Carbonels' is a novel written by Charlotte M. Yonge. The story is set in 1822, and begins with a lawyer yelling at a military official and two women in a garden. He then leaves the place in a huff, even as an old man, his servant, and a group of children try to stop him from leaving.
