About the book

Third, Or Prince of Wales' Regiment of Dragoon Guards was a cavalry regiment in the British Army, initially raised in 1685 as the Earl of Plymouth's Regiment of Horse. Thomas Hickman-Windsor, 1st Earl of raised it in 1685 as part of the response to the Monmouth Rebellion by the regimenting of various independent troops. It was ranked as the 4th Regiment of Horse. It saw service for two centuries, including the First World War, before merging into the 3rd/6th Dragoon Guards in 1922. This historical work presents an engaging account of the services of the Prince of Wales' Regiment of Dragoon Guards of the British Army. This well-structured record contains several particulars about the war, such as the period and circumstances of the original formation of the regiment, the names of the officers killed or wounded by the enemy, the battles, sieges, and other military operations.
