The Gloved Hand

'The Gloved Hand' is a detective novel by Burton E. Stevenson revolving around a private investigator named Jim Godfrey, who was also the principal police reporter of the Record. The narrator of the novel is Godfrey's friend, and they had been thrown together first in the Holladay case, marking the beginning of a friendship which had strengthened with the years.
