The impoverished daughter of a renowned artist, Vanessa was making ends meet by restoring the delicate miniatures that her father was so famous for. Whilst travelling to a commission she is saved from the clutches of the odious Sir Julius Stone by the dashing, but confirmed batchelor, the Marquis of Ruckford.
