The Polish Talleyrand Bogusław Miedziński: A Political Life and Political Thought
About the book
As Bogusław Miedziński’s opponents so his supporters stated that he was an extraordinary person. Although his surname can be found rather often in various articles and literature, for a long period this person had not been famous even in Poland. Before his two biographies were published in the Polish language1 , most of the authors pointed to the political, official and half-official functions, which he had been carrying out during the period from 1918 to 1939. In his young ages, Miedziński tied up his fate with Józef Piłsudski. Under his command he started service in the Polish Military Organization, he went through the Legions to serve as an officer of the Polish Army in the reborn Poland, shoulder to shoulder with the Chief of the State. In 1922, Miedziński became a member of the parliament for the first time. He remained parliamentarian until 1939.
