A young girl desperately calls a gentleman walking by on the street to come in and help her grandfather. Arthur Outhwaite comes to help only to find himself as the last person to see her grandfather alive. He was left with a warning from the dying man to deliver a letter to someone and no one else. Unfortunately, he dies before informing Outhwaite who that person is. Outhwaite is pushed into the mystery of not only finding this person but is also faced with the mysterious circumstances under which the man died.
