is another of my alphabetical stories written for shared reading.

Kind Dog has a special nose for smelling smells, so this story is about his hunt for a ‘good smell’ with his friends Ant and Bee. If a parent or older child reads the black words, then young children can join in the storytelling by calling out the words printed in red, which I have illustrated as they are introduced. I should like children to know that my favourite smell comes when rain first falls on hot ground.
