Urs Bühler makes a horrible discovery on the forbidden plague island in the lagoon of Venice. On the so-called 'Island of the Light' in the Mediterranean, Peter Adam is kept prisoner in a psychiatric institution. In Montpellier, Maria uncovers the secret of the relic from the papal apartment, and realizes that the catastrophe is imminent.
