What is DRM?

DRM (Digital Rights Management) is one of copyright protection technologies. It protects books, music and other digital content from unauthorized copying. In many books in English language and some Russian books sold on LitRes DRM technology by Adobe is used.

At LitRes, there are two types of books with protection:

  • Books with protection available for downloading and reading in Adobe Digital Editions and its analogues for mobile devices. For example, books written in foreign languages. On covers of such books, there is a mark Only in Adobe DRM
  • Books with protection only available for reading online on the website and in LitRes mobile applications. For example, educational and technical literature. On covers of such books, there is a mark Only for LitRes Read.
